Map View for Technicians

The Map View section in HeadCount allows technicians to visualize and manage their work orders using detailed maps of the buildings within their organization. This guide will walk you through navigating the Map View section, understanding its features, and effectively using the available tools.

Accessing Map View

To access the Map View section, follow these steps:

Info

-Navigate to the Map View Tab: You can find this tab in the left navigation bar of the application.

-View Building Maps: In the Map View, you will see high-quality maps of the buildings you have access to within your organization.

Viewing Work Orders on the Map

In the Map View, you can see all the work orders assigned to you that are not yet completed. These work orders are marked on the floor map with markers.

Steps to View Work Orders:

Info

-Locate Markers on the Map: Each marker represents an assigned work order. These markers help you quickly identify where tasks need to be performed within the building.

Note

-Click a Marker: When you click on a marker, you will be presented with two options:

1. View Work Order: This option allows you to view detailed information about the work order.

2. Complete and Submit Work Order: This option lets you mark the work order as complete and submit it directly from the map view.

Using the Toolbar

There is a toolbar located at the top right of the Map View. This toolbar provides several useful tools to enhance your navigation and interaction with the map.

Toolbar Functions:

Info

-Minimize Toolbar: Allows you to minimize the toolbar to get a larger view of the map.

-Zoom In/Out: Use these buttons to zoom in for a closer look at the map details or zoom out to see a broader view of the building layout.

-Recenter the Map: This button re-centers the map to its default position, making it easier to navigate back to the main view if you’ve panned around.

-Toggle Work Order Markers: This option allows you to turn the work order markers on or off. This can help declutter the map if you need to focus on specific areas without the markers.

Best Practices

To ensure effective use of the Map View, consider the following best practices:

Info

-Regularly Check the Map: Frequently check the Map View to stay updated on the locations of your assigned work orders.

-Use the Zoom Feature: Utilize the zoom feature to get a detailed view of specific areas or tasks within the building.

-Manage Work Orders Efficiently: Use the options provided when clicking on markers to quickly view or complete work orders, streamlining your workflow.

By following these guidelines and making use of the features available in the Map View section, you can efficiently manage your tasks and ensure that all work orders are completed effectively and on time.
